What Is a Corporate Sports Day?
A corporate Sports Day is an inter-department Olympic-style competition — tug of war, relay races, novelty events, and team challenges run in a tournament format. It's the most time-tested team building format in Singapore and delivers the highest energy of any programme we run.
At Get Out Events, we've organised Sports Day events for 50 to 1,000+ participants since 2012. Every programme is fully facilitated with professional MCs, station hosts, scoring systems, and full equipment setup.
How Our Sports Day Works
- Team Formation — Departments or mixed teams are assigned colours, team names, and war cries. Our MC builds team spirit from the opening ceremony.
- Station Rotations — Teams rotate through 8–15 game stations, competing in timed challenges. Each station has a dedicated host and scoring system.
- Championship Events — The day culminates in flagship events — tug of war, relay race, or a custom grand finale — in front of the whole group.
- Awards Ceremony — Medals, trophies, and team prizes awarded by your leadership. A proper closing that celebrates the day.
What to Expect: A Full Sports Day Timeline
Here's what a typical 4-hour corporate Sports Day looks like when run by Get Out Events:
- Registration & Team Formation (30 min) — Participants collect their team bibs or shirts, receive team briefings, and run through their assigned war cry with the MC. The atmosphere is set from the very first minute.
- Opening Ceremony (15 min) — Official welcome from your leadership, rules briefing, and the ceremonial starting whistle. Our MC builds anticipation and introduces the day's format.
- Station Rotations — Round 1 (60 min) — All teams rotate through the first set of stations simultaneously. Each station lasts 5–8 minutes. Scores are tallied in real time on a live scoreboard.
- Mid-Day Break (30 min) — Refreshments, hydration, and a leaderboard update. A chance for teams to strategise and recover before the second round.
- Station Rotations — Round 2 (60 min) — Second set of stations. Stakes rise as teams know where they stand on the scoreboard. The energy picks up significantly in the second half.
- Championship Final (30 min) — The top two or three teams face off in a high-energy finale — typically tug of war or a relay race with the whole group watching and cheering.
- Awards Ceremony & Group Photo (15 min) — Medals and trophies presented by your CEO or leadership team. Group photo. Natural end to an unforgettable day.

- Tug of War — The crowd favourite. Simple, physical, and produces the loudest cheers of any corporate event.
- Relay Races — Classic sprint relays, obstacle relays, or novelty relays (egg-and-spoon, sack race, three-legged race).
- Giant Inflatables — Obstacle courses, bouldering walls, and jousting platforms from our inflatable park collection.
- Novelty Games — Human foosball, blindfolded football, water balloon dodgeball, and more.
- Team Challenges — Collaborative tasks requiring strategy — tower building, chain reaction, or human knot.
- Water Games — Water balloon toss, sponge relay, and drench challenges. Popular for outdoor events in warmer months.
- Virtual Sports Stations — Indoor Sports Day option for venues without outdoor space — table tennis, darts tournaments, console sports stations.

- Public parks & outdoor fields — East Coast Park, Bishan Park, Punggol Waterway. We handle all permits and logistics.

Group Size Guide
Sports Day is the most scalable team building format we run. Here's how we structure different group sizes:
- 50–150 pax — 8–10 stations, one MC, full tournament format. Best for department-level events or growing companies running their first Sports Day.
- 150–400 pax — 12–15 stations, two MCs, live scoreboard, inflatables and novelty games. Classic mid-size Sports Day format.
- 400–1,000+ pax — Multi-zone format. Teams compete within zones first, then zone champions face off in cross-company finals. Multiple MCs, photography and video crews, full trophy and medal ceremonies.
